Basic Rules

1

Target Numbers

Only these numbers count: 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and Bullseye.

2

Closing Numbers

Hit each target number 3 times to 'close' it. Singles count as 1 hit, doubles as 2 hits, triples as 3 hits.

3

Scoring Points

After closing a number, subsequent hits on that number score points (if opponent hasn't closed it).

4

Winning

First player to close all numbers AND have equal or more points than opponent wins.

Strategy Guide

Opening Strategy

  • Start with 20s - highest point value when scoring
  • Aim for triples to close numbers instantly (3 marks)
  • Consider your opponent's progress before committing
  • Bulls are worth 25 points when scoring but harder to hit

Mid-Game Tactics

  • Score points on numbers you've closed (if opponent hasn't closed them)
  • Play defense by closing opponent's scoring numbers
  • Build point leads when you have numbers closed first
  • Watch the scoreboard - know when to switch from offense to defense

Closing Strategy

  • Close all numbers before opponent if you have point lead
  • If behind on points, score heavily before closing final numbers
  • Remember: You need ALL numbers closed AND equal/higher points to win
  • Don't close your last number if opponent can still outscore you

Practice Recommendations

Master Cricket accuracy and board coverage with targeted practice:

Around the Clock

The perfect practice game for Cricket players. Progress through all segments on the board to develop comprehensive accuracy.

Focus Areas:

  • Hit many different segments on the board - not just the traditional focus on 20s and 19s in X01 games
  • Practice movement and accuracy across the entire dartboard to prepare for Cricket's varied targets
  • Adjust to Triples mode to hone your high-scoring Cricket rounds and close numbers faster
