BackBasic Rules
1
Target Numbers
Only these numbers count: 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and Bullseye.
2
Closing Numbers
Hit each target number 3 times to 'close' it. Singles count as 1 hit, doubles as 2 hits, triples as 3 hits.
3
Scoring Points
After closing a number, subsequent hits on that number score points (if opponent hasn't closed it).
4
Winning
First player to close all numbers AND have equal or more points than opponent wins.
Strategy Guide
Opening Strategy
- Start with 20s - highest point value when scoring
- Aim for triples to close numbers instantly (3 marks)
- Consider your opponent's progress before committing
- Bulls are worth 25 points when scoring but harder to hit
Mid-Game Tactics
- Score points on numbers you've closed (if opponent hasn't closed them)
- Play defense by closing opponent's scoring numbers
- Build point leads when you have numbers closed first
- Watch the scoreboard - know when to switch from offense to defense
Closing Strategy
- Close all numbers before opponent if you have point lead
- If behind on points, score heavily before closing final numbers
- Remember: You need ALL numbers closed AND equal/higher points to win
- Don't close your last number if opponent can still outscore you
